Details

First Round-

  1. The first round will be held on 17th April, from 6 pm to 10 pm. Only registered students will log in to the Codechef account for a MCQ based test of duration 1 hr.
  2. The cut off marks will be 80% in this level.

Second Round -

  1. The next level will be held on 18th April from 6 pm to 10 pm. Only qualified candidates from round I are eligible to seat for MCQ based exam of duration 1 hr.
  • The winner will be selected based on fastest entry of maximum correct answers.
  • There will be Amazon gift vouchers of 150$ , 100$ and 50$ for 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.
  • We expect a large number of participants from around the globe.

IOPACS

IOPACS is an online International Olympiad for Pure and Applied Chemical Sciences organized by Department of Basic Science and Humanities of Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata in collaboration with the Society of Makers, Artists, Researchers and Technologists, (SMART), USA. and Codechef. This Olympiad aims at evaluating the subject knowledge, instant application in allied field, developing technological skill-set and competitive attitude for the overall growth of science among tech-learners. Not only that this competition is organized to put more emphasis on inter-discipline science and to inculcate the scientific mind set in the early orientation of the career.

Rules

Following are the rules and Regulations

  • Four options will be there for each question/problem.
  • There will be 20 questions in total.
  • The next problem/question can be viewed only if the previous one is solved.
  • Total two attempts for a single question. After two unsuccessful attempts, students cannot continue participation.
  • No marks will be deducted for wrong answers.
  • The participants will be ranked according to the maximum score obtained in minimum time. Ties will be broken according to the time taken to reach that score.
  • This exam will be conducted solely as online test through Codechef.
  • Top 50 rank holders will be given E-certificates.
  • Syllabus: 10+2 knowledge of chemistry and chemical sciences.
  • Upper age limit is restricted to 20 (as on 17.04.2021) for getting prize money.
  • Duration of exam: 1 hr after participants log into their codechef account.
  • Registration Fees:: It is totally Free.
  • Award: $150 for Winner, $100 for 1st runner up, $50 for 2nd runner up.
  • Every participant will be participating on their own. No collaboration is allowed. It is an individual contest.
  • Level of questions will be of International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) Standard.
  • All prize winners (Rank 1-3) need to give a valid age proof.
  • Please do not discuss strategy, suggestions or tips in the comments during a live contest.Posting questions clarifying the problem statement is ok.If you are unsure, email us at [email protected] .
  • Discussing CodeChef's problems or any aspect of problem, on any other platform on web, on identification, could lead to disabling of respective account and banning from the community.
